There are a lot of questions about this ermine : [link]) in the paint. Some experts say that is a ferret and not an ermine (study about the paws, fingers, size...) It is said that Léonard wished well to represent an ermine because it is the symbol of purity but the model was a ferret and the Lady was Cecilia Gallenari.
